Motorcycles are granted the same right-of-way privileges as other motor vehicles on the roadways. However, because they are smaller and more lightweight, drivers of cars or other large vehicles must use caution and give motorcyclists extra time and space when approaching a railroad crossing, an intersection, a bridge, or when severe weather occurs.
