Requirements for Signing Up for the Driving Lesson Programs:

Behind-The-Wheel Instruction Hours: Monday-Sunday 6:00am to 6:00pm. All programs and prices apply within school radius. North Side and South Side promotions available.
  • Be at least fifteen years old.
  • Visit a Secretary of State facility
  • Present all required identification documents.
  • Pay all the required fees, pass a vision screening test, and pass a written exam.
  • Be at least sixteen years old.
  • Pay all the required fees, hold an in-state driver’s permit or any other state’s driver’s license, and pass a road or practical exam.
  • Surrender all out-of-state licenses, out-of-state ID cards, and out-of-state instruction permits.
  • Complete Drivers education, which is divided in two parts:

         a. 30 hours of classroom session either through your school or a private driver’s education company

        b. 6 hours of behind the wheel practice with a professional instructor

 

  • Pass the written exam at the Secretary of State and obtain a learner’s permit and hold it for at least nine months before you can take your Driver’s License road test.
  • Additional to the 6 hours of behind the wheel teens have to complete a 50 hour log sheet.
  •   Bring all of the necessary documents to a Secretary of State facility.
  • Complete a six-hour Adult Driver’s Education course or provide proof of driver’s education completion before taking the road test.
  • Pass the written exam at the Secretary of State, should you need to learn how to drive, obtain a learner’s permit. We encourage you to enroll in a practical driving class to prepare for the road test.

        a)The teen must wait until he/she turns 18 to take the Road Test.

 

  •    Apply for a driver’s license at any Office of the Secretary of State.
  • Bring all of the necessary documents to a Secretary of State facility.
  •   Pass the road test.
